Bobo does not want to go to bed. He is sure there is someone hiding beneath it, just waiting to jump out and grab him. Bobo's grampa Boo-Dad knows all about those fearful creatures, when he was a youngster he had some pretty close encounters of his own. And he knows exactly what to do to scare the little terrors away. But Bobo is finding something out: some creatures are not as bad as they're made out to be. What if he makes up his own mind about the thing underneath his bed? What if he takes a chance - and sees what happens ...

Before graduating he was also awarded the Burt Brill and Cardens award for the second best degree show in 2000. He now lives in London. Barbara Jean Hicks has worked as a waitress, a shop assistant, a nanny and a teacher. She was born in a small town in Washington state, USA, and now lives in Seattle, where she is Author in Residence at a primary school. She is the award-winning author of several books for adults. Jitterbug Jam was her first work for children. Barbara shares her home with two good friends, a large tuxedo cat, and, she says, 'a host of imaginary characters who keep my life hopping'. Lila Prap is an innovative new artist with several picture books published in Europe. This is her first UK picture book.
