In "The Unhuggables," a whimsical tale unfolds in a world where emotions take physical form, creating beings that thrive on joys and sorrows. The story follows a young girl named Lila, who discovers a group of creatures known as the Unhuggables—mischievous, misunderstood, and in desperate need of connection. As Lila learns to embrace their quirks and fears, she embarks on a heartfelt journey to show them that love and acceptance can transform even the most guarded hearts. Growing up in Cut Off, Louisiana, Alexis Braud was surrounded by storytelling. She still finds inspiration for her work in the characters and inherent mystery of the bayous, swamps, and fens that she calls home. Braud realized her calling to be an artist and earned her BA in visual art with a focus on painting and sculpture from Nicholls State University. The raconteuse enjoys crafting, cooking, exploring her Cajun culture, and learning the ropes on the small farm outside of Hammond, Louisiana, that she and her family call home.
