Robin Tzannes lives in New York City. Korky Paul lives in the UK. Chris Powling has been a teacher, a headmaster, an editor, a critic and a broadcaster. He is adult-books editor for Classic FM where he presents a monthly review on the programme Classic Newsnight. He's the author of more than sixty books, both fiction and non-fiction, mainly for the 3-12 age range. His best-known titles include The Mustang Machine and The Phantom Carwash (Barn Owl Books) and The Conker as Hard as a Diamond (Happy Cat Books). He lives in South London. Sue Mason received a design and illustration degree from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 1995. She moved to London and worked as a children's books designer at Walker Books. In 2001 she started illustrating, and has been published by Barrington Stoke, Orchard Books and Walker Books. She lives and works in London. Alex Brychta collaborated with Roderick Hunt on a series of children books for the Oxford Reading Tree which had an animated spin-off, The Magic Key series. In addition to Oxford Reading Tree, Brychta is also the illustrator of Read with Biff, Chip and Kipper (formerly Read at Home), the Wolf Hill series of books and the Time Chronicles series. He has also written and illustrated several children's books for J M Dent, Franklin Watts, and Oxford University Press. Roderick and Alex won the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award at the Education Resources Awards 2009. Alex was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2012 New Year Honours for services to children's literature. He now lives in Surrey with wife Dina whom he has two children with, Kelly Brychta and Dylan Brychta. Martin Chatterton was born and raised in Liverpool but now lives in Australia with his family. He has been illustrating for over twenty years. Judy Brown is an illustrator of picture books and younger fiction. This is her first novel and begins a series featuring Portia. Judy is married with two children and lives in South London. Annemarie Young is an experienced editor and author of children's books, with a particular emphasis on writing stories to help children learn to read. Deobrah Allwright is an exceptional talent, and the acclaimed illustrator of the best-selling THE NIGHT PIRATES and SHE'LL BE COMING ROUND THE MOUNTAIN. Deborah has been a full-time illustrator for 8 years and lives and works in North London Kate Slater enjoyed a blissful childhood growing up on a beautiful farm in Staffordshire, which has provided the inspiration for many of her stories. She graduated from Kingston University in 2008 with a degree in Illustration and Animation. Magpie's Treasure is her first book.
