Tricia Brown spent more than twenty years in Alaska writing for newspapers in Fairbanks and Anchorage. She served as editor in chief of Alaska magazine before entering book publishing. She has written seventeen books on Alaskan subjects, including Alaskan Night Before Christmas, and is the foremost editor of books on dog mushing. Brown holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing. She lives in Scappoose, Oregon. Alan Fearl Stacy is a self-taught artist who derived his style and techniques from a variety of ancient and modern sources. He worked in broadcast television as a graphic artist and as a makeup artist for music videos, commercials, and theatre for many years. As a self-employed illustrator and designer, Stacy has illustrated two nonfiction picture books and self-published several graphic-novel versions of Aesopis fables. Tricia Brown is the author of many award winning books for children. She has worked as a teacher in both New York and San Francisco, but now devotes her time exclusively to writing. Ms. Brown lives in San Francisco.
