When Count Alaric rides back to his castle he finds a beautiful lady wandering, lost, in the meadow. She becomes his wife, and perhaps she is happy, but she never really belongs to his world. She is of the faerie people, and longs to eturn. But can Count Alaric let go of the thing he loves most?
