This cassette contains readings of extracts from poetry, prose and drama in the "Hodder English Gold 1, 2, 3". It also includes full short stories and poems. The aim is for pupils to listen to the cassette and then read the text, confident in the knowledge of what to expect from the text. It also provides an opportunity to fulfil many of the speaking and listening requirements of the National Curriculum for English. Pupils at very low reading levels should also benefit from being able to listen to the tape and then attempt activities. The cassette is part of a three-book English programme aimed at special needs students at Key Stage 3.
