Annie wants to go to her friend Jamie's house but Mum is busy feeding baby Ben. As Annie well knows, feeding Ben takes hours and hours, days and days, weeks and weeks and maybe all year. So Annie packs all she needs - her explorer's hat, purple wizard fingers and other things - and sets off with her puppy. But who will rescue her when the rain starts to fall and all the houses look the same? Mum, of course.

Beverley was born in London, grew up in Kenya and came to Britain for the first time to take A levels. She graduated from Cambridge with a degree in Economics and Sociology. After travelling in Africa, America, Europe and the Middle East, Beverley joined Penguin as an editor. Since then she has continued to work in publishing - at present she combines writing and working as an editor here at Hodder. She has two daughters and is married to photographer Nick Birch. The illustrator: Adrian Reynolds is quickly establishing a strong reputation as a picture book illustrator.
