Nicholas Fisk's real name is David Higgenbottom. Born in London in 1923 he has worked as an actor, photographer, journalist, lecturer, musician, editor and publisher as well as finding the time to write Science Fiction and become one of the most popular author of Science Fiction/Horror over the past three decades. He has written over forty books and several television scripts. Jean Ure is a prolific and highly regarded children's book author. She has been writing for many years, and had her first book published at the age of sixteen! Michaela Morgan is a well-regarded author whose recent Walter Tull's Scrapbook earned her glowing reviews and a boost in profile, as well as a shortlisting for the Blue Peter Book Award for Best Book with Facts. Sheila Lavelle was born in Gateshead, County Durham in 1939. She was inspired to write her own stories after becoming a junior school teacher. Her first book, URSULA BEAR, was published in 1977. She went on to write several Ursula Bear adventures, as well as the much-loved MY BEST FIEND series. Martin Davies, Helen Bird, David Orme, Maureen Lewis and Gareth Price Ad le Geras is the celebrated author of many books for all ages, including Troy and Ithaka. She lives in Cambridge, England.
