By clicking here you can add this book to your favourites list. If it is in your School Library it will show up on your account page in colour and you'll be able to download it from there. If it isn't in your school library it will still show up but in grey - that will tell us that maybe it is a book we should add to your school library, and will also remind you to read it if you find it somewhere else!

The 2nd edition revamps the old with exciting new content and brand new components in the form of Readers and a 7th level.

When Keskidee Intergrated Language Arts for the Caribbean was originally written, we visited many schools throughout the Caribbean and discussed classroom issues with teachers, educationalists and curriculum officers in order to create a course that fulfilled the needs of teachers and pupils alike. This newest edition draws on the experience of 6 advisers from across the Caribbean to offer:

  • a unique integrated approach that covers all skills and syntax areas of the syllabus: grammar, listening and speaking, reading, phonics, spelling, writing and "how to learn" skills.
  • a spiral approach to learning that ensures that once children are introduced to a new structure or concept they will practice it again and again at different stages.
  • practice exercises and activities that reinforce learning, create a solid base in English and prepare children for Common Entrance and other final-year assessment exams.
  • activities and extracts from reading materials that will stimulate young minds, helping them to enjoy the learning experience.
  • activities that develop hand control skills right from the beginning of level, then letter formation and finally handwriting skills using a gradual and systematic approach.

The 2nd edition comprises:

  • Pupils' Books from level 2 onwards that have been specifically designed for teachers to work from in class. They include three assessment units to help you identify the children's learning strengths and weaknesses.
  • Workbooks at every level (two at level 1) that consolidate the work in the Pupils' Books. These can be used in the classroom or at home. There are notes on each Workbook page that identify each lesson's main learning objective.
  • Three FREE double-sided classroom posters at the first level that can be used to introduce new vocabulary to children who are too young to read on their own.
  • Brand new Readers at each level that provide a range of different texts to develop reading skills either in the classroom or at home.
  • FREE Teacher's Guides at each level, each containing a full skills and contents matrix to show how the course matches your syllabus, unit-by-unit lesson plans, guidance on a range of teaching issues from mixed-ability teaching to classroom management, and ideas for extra activities.
