Wow! Our Amazing Planet is an interactive RE resource for primary school teachers to explore the theme of caring for our environment through learning about our amazing planet and our responsibility for looking after it. The material is organised into six sections: Yes, it is amazing! Whose world? Whose fault? Who can help? Is there hope for our world? My wonderful wild local area Each section contains background information and classroom activities, including work in the school grounds, games, puzzles, creative artwork and drama ideas, with differentiation for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There are also PowerPoint presentations with scripts for two assemblies, links to video clips and an online photo gallery.

 

This book is at the following key stages: Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 . A key stage is any of the fixed stages into which the national curriculum is divided, each having its own prescribed course of study. At the end of each stage, pupils are required to complete standard assessment tasks. KS1 covers school years 1 and 2, and ages 5-7 years. KS2 covers school years 4, 5 and 6, and ages 8-11 years. This book is aimed at children in primary school.

David Chandler is the RSPB's principal Youth Officer, and produces literature for the RSPB's junior division (Wildlife Explorers). MU is a knowledgeable naturalist and experienced author of children's non-fiction books.
