Kate Leake studied Children's Illustration at the North Wales School of Art and Design and was runner-up in the 2004 Macmillan Prize for Illustration with THE BEST CHIP. She based the story on a childhood memory of dropping a chip on the floor of a restaurant and the trauma it caused her! The Unknown Adventurer is still believed to be at large in the wild.
