"First Verses" is a series of books of new and original poetry for young children, chosen by John Foster. The first four titles were very well received, and "Bedtime Rhymes" is one of the second batch of four more First Verses titles. In "Bedtime Rhymes" there are poems for when you don't want to go to bed, and for when you do. There's bath time and hair-washing too (groan) before you drift off to dream. The book is illustrated in full color, and Carol Thompson's beautifully observed pictures create their own lively world, as well as giving help on how to 'play' some of the rhymes.
