Fireman Sam first premiered in the UK in 1987, making it one of the UK's longest running and best-loved Children's TV porgrammes. The original idea for the show came from two ex-firefighters from London- Dave Gingell and David Jones. Alan Alexander Milne was an English author, best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for various poems. [Wikipedia] E. H. Shepard was born in London in 1879. He was a cartoonist and illustrator and went on to draw the original illustrations to accompany Milne's classic stories, earning him the name `the man who drew Pooh'.
