Princess and the Pea

A prince wishes only to marry a real princess. One day a young woman knocks on the door of the palace seeking shelter for the night. She claims royal status, but the prince and his mother are unsure. The Queen places a pea under a pile of mattresses and offers this as the only bed for the night, believing that only a true princess will feel the bump in the bed. The next morning the young woman claims to have had a dreadful nights sleep, and the prince and his mother are convinced she is true royalty, and he marries her.
