Sarah Edwards was born in Kent, England, in 1975. From a young age she was fascinated by art in its many forms and styles. This interest led her to study art at the Kent lnstitute of Art and Design at Maidstone, Kent, followed by the completion of a BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Design, specialising in illustration, at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston. Art then took a back seat for many years as Sarah pursued her career as a planning officer, gaining a Masters degree in Planning Policy and Practice at London South Bank University. ln 2014 Sarah decided it was time for a career change. She decided to resume her work on the children's book, A Snail's Tale, which she had started almost twenty years previously as a university student. As you can see, this book is now complete and Sarah plans to expand on the adventures of Omalvus and Sharla in subsequent books. Snails as the main characters was an easy decision for Sarah as she has been enchanted by snails since a young age. Over the years she has amassed a range of snail collectables and has even had pet snails ranging from common garden ones, to giant African land snails! Today she has an aquatic snail that lives in an aquarium full of tropical fish. ln addition to her interest in art and design Sarah also enjoys keeping fit, including running and swimming. She has completed several half-marathons and a full marathon and hopes to do more in the future. Her other hobbies include gardening, motorcycling, DIY, reading and spending time with her husband, Gareth.
