Organized around themes such as home and school life, the series sets out to display the key historical concepts of change and continuity. This book covers the 1950s, and consists of extracts from interviews with ordinary people talking about aspects of their daily lives. Many of the same people appear in different volumes, and can be followed from children in the 1930s to pensioners in the 1980s.
