This is the story of Jack, who wanted to fly from the day he was a toddler. When, as a boy, people asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, Jack would answer, "A pilot!" But by the time he got old enough, he had to go to war. Later, he raised a family, and instilled in his children a love for flying. Though time and circumstance kept him from soaring through the air, he never gave up his dream. Kathye Fetsko Petrie's heartwarming story, with spirited illustrations by Paula J. Mahoney, tells of family love, faith, and the power of dreams. With a foreword by Reeve Lindbergh, here is the story of one man's passion for flight as it unfolds against milestones of American aviation history.
