Trina Schart Hyman (April 8, 1939-November 19, 2004) was an American illustrator of more than 150 children's books. She won the Caldecott Medal for Saint George and the Dragon and lived in Sweden. J. M. BARRIE originally wrote Peter Pan as a play -- its first performance in 1904 met with instant acclaim. Barrie then adapted the play into the 1911 novel Peter Pan and Wendy.
