The Gardening Pirates is the tale of cruel Captain Cranc and the bad ship Ych a Fi! The crew are fed up with eating ship's biscuits but when they complain, the bad-tempered captain hurls them at them. One day they land on a treasure island and start searching for treasure, which turns out to be quite unusual because it consists of seeds and gardening equipment. The cabin girl, Gwen, smuggles them on board and the pirates help her to plant them in every nook and cranny on the ship whilst keeping their treasure a secret from Captain Cranc. Eventually there is a supply of fresh vegetables and Cookie is able to make cawl. When the captain finds out, however, he promptly bans their gardening activities but thanks to a very special plant which has grown in Gwen's hat - the captain is stopped in his tracks -
