Great for age 12-18 years
This very funny vampire novel is very different from your normal vampire book and not just because it is bursting with full color art fitted in with the text showing the life of a young vampire forced to walk about in a transparent nightdress all day without underwear because that is what female vampires are supposed to do! Unlike the undead sex mad vampire maids, Amy was a living vampire and the main difference apart from having better teeth and a pulse, meant she felt and suffered the cold invasive winds blowing along the corridors, most female vampire called them male winds due to the way they were always trying to rip the nightdresses off them. From fighting in skin tight painted on body suits to learning to hang upside down from a ceiling in a nightdress without showing the world what you had for lunch, was just the start of her vampire training program. And yes it's normal for a girl to dream about Guys, even if the girl happens to be a blood sucking denizen of the night - - - - It's just that this denizen wishes the dreams could involve chocolates and holding hands and not leaping out on someone, ripping his shirt off and demanding to know what blood type he is, well at least not on the first date. (Amy the vampire: - - "The massacre on 22nd and 3rd was greatly exaggerated by the human newspapers and not altogether my fault. It was my very first hunting trip, and a girl should not be judged by her first bite night. And no one ever talks about me saving the life of that cat. Besides, most of them kind of killed themselves without any help from me." - - - - - "And before tonight it was only one male that I killed by ripping his throat out with my teeth." - - - - "And no, I did not then eat him. I don't normally eat vampires. I think I just chewed and swallowed what I had in my mouth after I bit him. That was all, and it was not that he even tasted that good. Besides, it was only three or four mouthfuls before he threw me off.")

The Author Amelia Mah is a 20 something snarky, sarcastic and cynical author who has a very popular blog of how she sees the world from the point of view of a modern teenage vampire Following the success of her first book "FANGS RULE A girls guide to being a vampire" she had now expanded the idea of life as a teenage vampire into a full novel Amelia has given her avatar her own name so you can see the world first hand from a very bored teenage vampire that has been forced to remain a teenager for far too long She may have very good teeth and the ability to hang from ceilings Author: Rachel Hill (AKA Gabby) Aside from a few short stories about Keanu Reeves, this is Rachel's first attempt at writing. She has just trudged her way through her school years and is now ready to begin the hard life of a university student; where it is clearly all serious work and early mornings. As well as giving her an excuse to laze around and read books all day, she hopes her choice of an English Literature course will finally knock the confusion between 'your' and 'you're' out of her once and for all. A Girls Guide to Guys was written as a result of Rachel being absolutely hopeless when it came to anything boy related. Turning to girly magazines, she found some help in numerous how to articles but found mainly that these were written for semi-capable people who only needed a little push in the right direction. Rachel did need someone to tell her how to do something; she needed someone to tell her how to do everything, right down to the shoes to wear. Because it's all very well to tell someone to 'smile alluringly' but there is a surprisingly fine line between 'flirting with your eyes' and scary evil stare. Sometime later, when she'd finally gathered her information together from a secret boy source who may or may not know his giving away of guy secrets have found their way into a book, she decided that there was a slim chance there were other girls out there similarly hopeless with boys and so maybe she should share what she'd found out. The guide is introduced by a character called Gabby who leads the reader through the guide explaining all about the strange alien life from that gives every girl problems, BOYS! Why Gabby? Because then she can pretend it is her alter ego who knew what to do all along. Illustrator: Heby Sim (Manga Artist) Heby is also at University where she is training to be a teacher, her loves are Cats, Chocolate and Drawing and has not only brought to life in drawings Rachel's alto ego Gabby but also created all the images of the Boys in the Boy Catalogue. If both girls had to agree on a favorite Guy image in the book then they would go for Mr Random Encounter on page 18 as they say he looks so cute with his sunglasses. Heby has also illustrated other books in the Chocolate Manga Series for Reardon Publishing.
