Cajun Red Riding Hood faces a frightening bayou foe! A bayou version of a classic, this full-color update of the beloved fairy tale introduces a new generation to Cajun culture. As Petite Rouge paddles her pirogue to visit her sick grandmere, she is unaware that lurking among the cypress trees is the sneaky gator her mother warned her about. The gator Taille-Taille would love to gobble up Petite Rouge, and her cloak too! Detailed illustrations bring the distinct attributes of the south to life. Action-filled scenes highlight the drama and uncertainty of what unfolds. What will happen to Petite Rouge? And why can't she find her doux grandmere? French words and phrases accent the story and the unique nature of Acadiana.
