Alison Hawes is a freelance writer specializing in fiction and non-fiction for children. She has been a school teacher, a classroom assistant, and playgroup helper but now writes full time. When her children were born she finally returned to her dream, writing thousands of short stories for magazines all over the world. Re-discovering a love of children's books while reading to her daughters, she decided to turn her hand to writing them - and has now published over twenty books for children, including picture books and junior fiction. Writing is her full-time job, but also her favourite activity. She also enjoys reading, gardening, walking, and being in the country. Her favourite children's books include Walk Two Moons, The Selfish Giant, Cosmic, and Someone Else's Life. She loves watching cosy sentimental films, such as You've Got Mail, Return to Me, and While You Were Sleeping, as well as classic old films starring Cary Grant, Fred Astaire and Doris Day. Elizabeth is married, with three daughters, and lives in a village in West Sussex. Her daughters, Katie and Jenny, are also children's authors with Hachette. Claire Llewellyn lives in Hertford and is an established non-fiction author for children. Rhona Davies is a trained teacher who has written a number of books. She has a keen desire to stay faithful to the spirit of the biblical text. She is married with teenage sons and is passionate about reading, gardening and genealogy. Rhona lives in England with her roots in South Wales. Marcin Piwowarski worked as a freelance illustrator for more than ten years before managing a graphic studio. He is a successful illustrator with more than 100 children's books published worldwide. Marcin lives with his wife and two young children in the centre of Poland. Lynne Rickards is a writer and has worked as a translator in Toronto, a proofreader in Montreal, and an editor in Glasgow. Her early career included a brief stint as a children's illustrator for Crabtree Publishing Company. Kathryn Harper is the co-author of Cheeky Monkey, a three-level course for very young children. She has also written Galaxy, Time for English, See Saw, All Star English and a new pre-primary course for China. She has also written a number of readers, electronic materials and reference materials for different projects. Kathryn used to work as an international publisher at Macmillan where she published books for Africa, The Middle East and Latin America.
